Wowza, a global leader in live and on-demand video streaming software, has announced the appointment of Krish Kumar as its Chief Executive Officer, effective December 2, 2024. Kumar will succeed Co-Founder and CEO Dave Stubenvoll, who has led the company since its inception in 2007. Stubenvoll will remain actively involved as a Board member and investor.
Backed by Clearhaven Partners, a Boston-based software private equity firm since 2021, Wowza is recognized for its reliable and scalable streaming solutions. The company supports over 170,000 concurrent instances of Wowza Streaming Engine, powering 30 million hours of live video each month. Trusted by enterprises across 130+ countries, Wowza’s clientele includes Fortune 2000 companies like Sony, Amazon, and Google; sports organizations like Formula One and McLaren; educational institutions such as Stanford and Brown University; and government entities including the U.S. Coast Guard.
Krish Kumar joins Wowza with a rich leadership background in technology and innovation. Previously, he served as the CEO of BrightEdge, where he spearheaded growth and expanded AI-driven digital automation solutions. Kumar also spent nearly a decade at Google, holding senior roles such as Global Head of Enterprise Search and contributing to groundbreaking projects at X, Google’s moonshot factory.
