Livguard, a leading player in India’s energy storage and solar solutions space and part of the SAR Group, has announced the appointment of Sameer Nagpal as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. This leadership transition marks a strategic milestone for the company as it aims to strengthen its position in the sustainable energy ecosystem.
With a career spanning over 30 years across multiple industries, Sameer brings deep experience in leading business transformations, scaling operations, and driving innovation. His appointment underscores Livguard’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge, future-ready energy solutions that address the growing demand across residential, commercial, and industrial markets.
An alumnus of Delhi College of Engineering and IIM-Calcutta, Sameer began his professional journey with Carrier Corporation in 1991, where he spent over 15 years rising through the ranks to eventually serve as Director – Building Systems and Services, India.
He later took on the role of CEO at ZICOM Electronic Security Systems, where he played a pivotal role in transforming the listed firm from a promoter-driven business into a professionally-managed organization. His leadership focus on building scalable, process-driven operations laid the foundation for future growth.
Sameer went on to hold senior strategic roles at Trane Technologies (formerly Ingersoll Rand), before leading Shalimar Paints as MD & CEO. During his time there, he led a successful turnaround by redefining the company’s strategic direction and implementing comprehensive restructuring.
In 2015, he joined Dalmia Bharat Refractories as CEO and MD, where he was instrumental in consolidating and transforming multiple entities into a unified business, enhancing operational excellence and brand value.
He has also been an active contributor to industry bodies, serving as Director & Advocacy Chair of the Indian Refractory Makers Association and Chairman of IREFCON 2022.
