P.D. Singh to Succeed Zarin Daruwala Effective 1 April 2025
Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of P.D. Singh as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for India, effective 1 April 2025. He will succeed Zarin Daruwala, who will retire on 31 March 2025 after leading the bank’s India operations for nearly a decade.
P.D. Singh brings nearly three decades of experience in banking and finance, having held leadership and coverage roles across European and American banks.
Before joining Standard Chartered, Singh served as CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank in India, where he was instrumental in shaping the bank’s corporate banking franchise as a founding member. Under his leadership, JP Morgan India received multiple industry accolades for its outstanding performance.
Prior to JP Morgan, he spent a decade at HSBC, holding senior positions across corporate and commercial banking. His expertise spans key areas of financial services, including corporate lending, risk management and strategic growth initiatives.
An accomplished professional, P.D. Singh holds a double MBA and an engineering degree, reinforcing his deep understanding of financial markets and business strategy.
