Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced the appointment of Sibaji Biswas as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective the first week of January 2025. In his new role, Biswas will oversee SPNI’s financial strategy, planning, and corporate finance functions, aiming to drive operational efficiency and support growth across the company’s multi-channel and digital platforms.
Biswas brings over two decades of experience in financial leadership and a strong record of delivering growth and innovation in finance. Most recently, he served as CFO and Executive Director at Syngene International, a listed subsidiary of the Biocon Group, where he played a key role in the company’s expansion. Under his financial leadership, Syngene’s revenues doubled, and its market capitalization nearly tripled within five years. Additionally, he spearheaded supply chain and digital transformation initiatives, optimizing operations and preparing the business for future growth.
His career also includes a significant 12-year tenure at Vodafone, where he held multiple strategic roles, such as CFO of Vodafone Romania, EVP of Corporate Development, and Head of Procurement. As a member of Vodafone’s senior leadership team, Biswas contributed to strategic growth initiatives both in India and internationally. Earlier in his career, he served as Head of Corporate Finance at Hutchison India, collaborating with its leadership to develop forward-thinking finance strategies that supported the company’s expansion.
With his extensive background in corporate finance, strategic transformation, and digital innovation, Sibaji Biswas is poised to be a valuable asset to SPNI’s leadership as the company advances its growth agenda in the evolving media landscape.
