Ramya Venkat, a seasoned marketing professional, has made a significant career leap from Hindustan Unilever to Abbott, where she has taken on the role of Director – Integrated Marketing.
Ramya began her career at Ogilvy & Mather as an account supervisor, where she honed her marketing skills before moving on to Johnson & Johnson as a brand assistant for their OTC division. Her journey continued at Hindustan Unilever, where she worked across various brands, starting with Wheel, Sunlight, and Magic. Over the years, she advanced through multiple roles, eventually becoming the Senior Regional Brand Manager for Indulekha.
During her 14-year tenure at Hindustan Unilever, Ramya led marketing efforts for numerous brands, including Comfort, Close Up, and Surface Cleaners. She played a key role in building strong brand identities and was instrumental in driving growth in these product categories.
At Abbott, Ramya will be overseeing integrated marketing for the company, which boasts a portfolio of over 600 products across various sectors, including nutrition, diabetes care, vascular health, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals. Abbott, a 135-year-old multinational company founded by physician Wallace C. Abbott, is known for its iconic brands such as Digene, Duphalac, PediaSure, Ensure, and Glucerna, among others.
Ramya’s expertise in brand building and marketing strategy will be a valuable asset to Abbott as the company continues to expand its footprint in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry.
